    Description

    These are brand new carbide-tipped jointer knives, that measure 6-1/16 X 5/8 x 1/8",  in a set of  3 knives.  These knives will
    fit the the Jet JJ-6 machines, Powermatic 54A  and some other
    6" machines
    Please measure your knives very carefully before bidding, to insure correct size.  Carbide tipped knives can run as much as 10 times longer than either D2 High Carbon/High Chrome steel or M2 and M3 high speed steel knives.
    Carbide is particularly good with difficult woods like teak, hickory and maple.  It also performs very well with engineered wood products that contain glue, like MDF, LVL, edge-glued stock and glue bonded fiberboards. Please be aware that carbide tipped knives must be re-sharpened with either a diamond or silicone-carbide grinding wheel.  The knives can be hand-honed using a silicone-carbide slip stone.  Carbide is a very hard material (89+ RC), so it is very important to avoid materials containing nails, staples and other foreign matter that can cause breakage
